SUMMARY
SONACA Group is an aerospace company mainly active in aerostructure (Design & Build and Build to Print). Its headquarters established in Gosselies (Belgium) houses SONACA Group Engineering and a one-stop shop through machining, forming, composite and assembly production lines. SONACA Group core competencies are, amongst others, the wing slats.
CONCEPT
TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES AND INPUTS OF THE DEVELOPMENT IN STELLAR
SONACA is single source for Airbus wing slats. STELLAR project foresees to implement the technology on commercial aircraft to evaluate the coatings efficiency and durability, in partnership with Brussels Airlines. The implementation shall be performed on a A320 commercial aircraft. Therefore, SONACA shall manufactured a new slat with STELLAR developed and selected coating in order to install it on Brussels Airlines aircraft. By being Airbus single source on such element, SONACA shall provide an element ready for installation at Brussels Airport.
