SUMMARY
SOPURA oversees developing innovative detergency solutions. These must remove all traces of soils impacting the aerodynamics and therefore the fuel consumption of the aircraft.
These solutions must restore the anti-fouling properties of the coating developed by the project partners.
SOPURA wanting to offer efficient solutions while respecting the environment, we have chosen enzymatic detergents and solutions based on non-toxic solvents.
CONCEPT
The soiling to remove being mainly composed of hemolymph and insect residues, we have selected products combining specific enzymes with bio-based surfactants and non-toxic solvents.
The enzymes guarantee the hydrolysis of the coagulated molecules during the impact of the insect on the wings. These residues are then desorbed from the surface using bio-based surfactants.
The application of the solution will be done using spray.
A patented rotating brush system will ensure sufficient mechanical efficiency in the removal of dirt. The detergency solutions will be recovered and recycled to reduce their environmental impact.
TECHNICAL ADVANTAGE
In addition to being more efficient than the detergents currently used in this application, our technology will have a good environmental profile.
Our solutions, due to their neutral pH, will be perfectly compatible with the coatings used in the STELLAR project and will not present a risk for operators
INPUT IN STELLAR
SOPURA's experience in the formulation of detergents and more particularly useful for cleaning transport vehicles is an asset for the STELLAR project.
The cleaning solutions developed will be complementary to the use of anti-fouling coating offered by our partners. The joint use of these two technologies will allow a significant reduction in fuel consumption.
SOPURA has already launched efficiency tests on parts of aircraft that will no longer be used to assess the feasibility of the concept.
