In the CHOPIN project, different technologies are being developed and tested
to select the best durable hydrophobic coatings for insect mitigation :
DRY TECHNOLOGIES (Ion implantation and anti-stick spray)
WET-CHEMISTRY DEPOSITION (Sol-Gel, Ionogel, UV-varnish)
The coating technologies have been chosen for their anti-contamination/self-cleaning ability and chemical/mechanical resistance potential. Formulation and application parameters were optimized to improve these properties and to find a satisfactory compromise. Some of them are promising candidates for the CHOPIN target but all have potentials to be applied in other application fields for which anti-dirt or easy-to-clean applications are required.
MATERIA NOVA has developed an innovative surface technology to provide durable anti-adherent surfaces.

BERTHIER is specialized in hydrophobic one-single layer coatings with anti-dirt and anti corrosion properties.
The sol-gel coatings developed by Materia Nova offers a large panels of functional properties (anti-dirt, anti-corrosion, mechanical properties, scratch resistance,…) on various substrates (metals, polymers,...). This coating based technology provides high performance and durable cleanability.More INFO
The The UV varnish technology studied by Materia Nova constitutes a quick and easy process tool combining organic and inorganic advantages to offer functionalization of surface with durable, resistant and flexible coating for various applications.
